What we do

At Quill, Fork & Cork, we are reinventing the culinary scene by digging into the hyper-local traditions unique to a city, a neighborhood or even a cross street. We call this the gastronomic terroir, or the magical mix of humanity, geography, environment and circumstance that are the flavor of place in the same way soil, air and grapes shape the best wines. Once we have uncovered a locale’s forgotten culinary past, we connect those compelling narratives to today, helping chefs, growers and distributors set themselves apart from their competitors.

Who we are

Rachel Louise Martin, PhD is the author of Hot, Hot Chicken: A Nashville Story as well as the award-winning Most Tolerant Little Town, and she believes food gives us a unique connection into both the past and the future. Her essays have appeared in the Atlantic, CityLabOxford American and elsewhere. In addition, she is an experienced hospitality team member who has trained servers and captains for James Beard Award-winning chefs and led food history tours of downtown Nashville.
